We are pleased to announce that Mt. Pinatubo is now open for trekking once again, after 3 months of closure. Although the Municipality of Capas has increased their fees for visitors, they have also improved the trail and the Skyway 4x4 route is once again passable after months of rains and storms.
In celebration of this reopening, A Mt. Pinatubo Reopening Climb will be held on December 12, 2009. The package costs P2,200/person inclusive of roundtrip transportation Manila-Capas-Manila, 4x4 ride using the Skyway trail (whenever available), guides, entrance fee, and mineral water.

hi sir, im a newbie hiker, just experienced my 1st treking in Mt. Butot Palos last summer and Mountain Biking at TimberLands Rizal and is searching for more thrills? would you suggest a newbie like me to try out Mt.Pinatubo?
hello endz, yes i think mt. pinatubo is great for newbies. the 4x4 experience is unique and the lahar trekking/swimming in the crater are also things that only pinatubo can offer :D

DOT III will not lift its advisory until Capas LGU gets appropriate environmental permits for Skyway from DENR. Mountaineers should demand that this minimum requirement be met to ensure the safety of all those using the Skyway. Please contact DOT III for more information.

Nakakalungkot yung ginawa nila dun sa crater rim saka sa ibaba. They're taming a landscape that is meant to be rugged. (and all these were done without consulting the Aeta community which has legal claims to the mountain).
