Announcing the PinoyMountaineer Shirts no. 9: "Stop Dreaming, Start Climbing", "Mind Over Mountain"; and "Hike for Life"!

I am pleased to make the exciting announcement that today, we are releasing not one, not two, but three shirts as part of the PinoyMountaineer 9 series! The new PM shirts are styled "Shirt no. 9.1: Stop Dreaming, Start Climbing"; "Shirt no. 9.2: Mind Over Mountain"; and "Shirt no. 9.3: Hike for Life" and represent the three stages of discovering the outdoors: the stage of discovery, when there is a choice between dreaming and actually climbing; the stage of adventure, where challenges are confronted and overcome; and finally, the stage of commitment, when there is a choice between making hiking a hobby for a season, or a lifelong passion.

The PinoyMountaineer shirts are available at P350 in all The Perfect White Shirt outlets. Please see the details below. Meanwhile, a brief comment on the three new shirts:

I believe in the power of dreams. However, there are times when, instead of dreaming, we have to actually work to make these dreams a reality. We dream of many mountains, sometimes without realizing that actually have the means and opportunities to realize dreams. Climbing a mountain may be a metaphor for big dreams and wild ambitions, but like many great things in life, it begins with a single step.

In a clear reference to the oft-quoted phrase "Mind over matter", this statement signifies the primacy over the mind over the body as the primary motive force that takes people to the top. One way of saying it, as I have said before, is that "it is not the backpack that we carry, but ourselves". This is both a challenge and an encouragement: it is a challenge, because it tells us that physicality is not enough. On the other hand, it is an encouragement to us that since we are all equipped with minds, we can reach our goals. I believe that every summit is within walking distance to anyone who sets his mind to it.

In the short statement, "Hike For Life", hikers can affirm a couple of things that they value. Firstly, it concludes the continuum from discovery and adventure to commitment, and with it, the joy of pursuing a passion of a lifetime. No matter when you discovered hiking, you can hike for life: it is a sport that knows no age. But secondly, "life" can also signify the larger living world - nature - and in this sense, when we say "hike for life" we are also affirming our commitment to hike for Mother Earth, that is, to hike respectfully and responsibly.

Unlike the cheaper shirts, pinoy have the stone wash look, the image is inside the fabric on screened on top and they don't stick to iron while pressed.
